SubscriberHi, I am trying to simulate the battery thermal runaway by using a heater plate in ANSYS FLUENT, can anyone say how to give "Power" boundary condition to the heater plate for the specified number of seconds?

Ansys EmployeeYou can use Boundary Conditions to provide Heat Flux (W/m2). Kindly refer 7.6. Transient Cell Zone and Boundary Conditions (ansys.com) for more information on profile formats.Â

SubscriberThanks, yes, I have tried it by giving it in Heat generation (W/m3) and the temperature of the cell which is in contact with the heater shoots up to 5000K within 0.5 sec.Â

Ansys EmployeeKindly check your setup in that case. Keep in mind that the units for Heat Flux is W/m2 and Heat generation is W/m3.Â
