When I download Ansys Student, the download speed is very slow and lower than 100KB/s. The download speed is very fast at any other time. I have changed the internet connection, but it was useless. What is the cause of this problem?

I'm not aware of any problems on our end. The main server is in the US, are there any checks courtesy of the Chinese govt web rules? If you try again now is the problem still present?

It is not clear whether there are any checks courtesy of the Chinese government web rules. The problem remains at present. I have contacted with Ansys China. But they didn't find a solution.

I've got around 6-7Mb/s on my home connection, so it looks like it's OK on our side. I am double checking.

It's not us. Can you check you're not on VPN (tends to slow things down) and not watching YouTube or downloading Win10 updates.

I have tried to download the software once again. And I didn't use VPN, watch viedo and download data. But the situation didn't change. It is possible that the download speed is so slow because the resource that I download is abroad. Are there any other ways to download Ansys Student?

No, just the official Ansys site. However the files are hosted (HQs internet wouldn't cope with the data traffic) so it must be somewhere in the system towards your end.

I have changed the internet connection and downloaded Ansys Student successfully. But when the installation of the Ansys Student software was complete, the program reported there were errors/warnings. After I rebooted the machine, I can't find the shrotcut and folder from the Start menu.

The message is that the installation is complete and there is an error/warning. But it didn't give any details about the error or warning.

Under the "C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\ANSYS Student" directory, there should exist a file named: install.err
open this with notepad and paste the contents of it to this thread as we are not permitted to open files.

I have resolved the problem. How can I download and install Ansys local help which is convenient to use?

If you're using Student you can't. The full version has an extra install bundle for local help, it's mainly used by those who run local networks and staff who travel (when Ansys let's us out again).

I found this bundle didn't include Ansys Mesh. How can I download and use it?

It does, it's the standard meshing tool in Workbench. The full list is here https://www.ansys.com/academic/students/ansys-student

Hi how did you solve this problem? I download your .err file and find it almost the same as mine. The following is mine:

I assume you've restarted the computer since changing the UserID and then reinstalled the software as Admin?

You need to change your username from Chinese to English.
