Hi Forum Members
I have been grappling with a persistent issue for quite some time now and would greatly appreciate any assistance or insights you can offer.
The problem I’m facing is related to Rocky (Particle Dynamics) within the Workbench environment. Despite my efforts, I have been unable to locate Rocky in the available tools. Here are the steps I’ve taken so far:
I have installed and reinstalled Rocky and Ansys using the latest versions available.
Before each installation attempt, I made sure to delete the Ansys Inc folder to ensure a clean installation.
I have tried various other troubleshooting methods mentioned in forums and documentation.
It’s worth mentioning that both Workbench and Rocky appear to be working fine as standalone applications. However, when I access Workbench, Rocky is nowhere to be found among the available tools.
I also checked my license settings à Features in use, and it seems that there are at least 20 licenses still available for practically every tool. Currently, our institution is on holiday, so there should be no issues related to license availability.
Despite all my efforts, the problem persists, and I’m unsure about what else to try. If any of you have encountered a similar situation or have any ideas about what might be causing this issue, your prompt responses and constructive inputs would be highly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello Marko,
What other Rock licenses do you have in the status?
Do you see:
Users of rocky_hpc
Users of rocky_preppost
Users of rocky_solverWhen installing, did you install Rocky first or was Workbench installed first?
If Rocky was installed first, can you rerun the installation and verify the following appears:
Ansys Workbench Addin

Hi George,
Thank you for your response and suggestions. I appreciate your help in resolving this issue. To answer your questions:
In the "Users of" section for Rocky licenses, I can see all licences from your response (photo).
I have tried installing Rocky both before and after installing Ansys Workbench, but unfortunately, the issue persists in both cases.
I have re-run the installation process for Rocky and verified that "Ansys Workbench Addin" is indeed selected during the installation.
I have followed these steps meticulously to ensure a proper installation, yet Rocky still does not appear within the available tools when I access Workbench.
Thank you again for your assistance.
Best regards, Marko

When running the setup executable, did you right click on them and choose "run as administrator" ?

Hello George,
Regarding the installation process, I want to confirm that I did run the setup executable as an administrator for both Ansys Workbench and Rocky installations. Despite following this step, Rocky still does not appear within the available tools when I access Workbench.

Hi Forum Members,
For all future members who will have the same problem:
I uninstalled all Ansys products, restarted my system, and made sure to delete any remaining Ansys folders with files. Then, during the reinstallation process, I paid close attention and left the second option, which pertains to QA services, unchecked in the Accept screen.
This worked for me.
