Terminal lost its assignment due to geometry modifications

      Hello

I made a spiral antenna model like ACT Extensions -> Antenna Toolkit -> PlanarSpiral -> Archimedian Spiral Antenna: I took the settings from the example and created my own geometry. I assigned a Terminal Lumped Port to the center square (as in the ACT example). The calculation was successful.

Changed one of the geometry parameters of the design. I received a warning that Terminal lost its assignment due to geometry modifications and has been deleted. If you re-assign Terminal Lumped Port, you will be able to run the calculation. However, the next time the parameter is changed (or when returning to the previous value), the assingment will break again.

This behavior makes it impossible to run parametric analysis and optimization. If contact is broken during the process, the job crashes with an error and optimization stops.

Loss of contact does not always occur. If the parameter is changed weakly enough, the contact is not lost.

All vertices of the shapes are set using formulas, I especially checked the contact between the center part and the spiral. No holes were found during visual inspection.

What can be the cause of the error, how to get rid of it? In which direction should I look?

      Hi Alex,

Thank you for reaching out to the Ansys learning forum. Your patience is much appreciated.

I tried to run a parametric analysis on the same model created using the Antenna Toolkit and I did not face the issue you mentioned.

It looks like you might have missed something while trying to replicate the geometry. Please check one more time. Please see if you are performing the boolean operations correctly.

      Best regards,
      Praneeth.
