SubscriberHello,nOnce I have already compute a simulation in Fluent I am in need of splitting a surface for postprocessing and exporting forces. I need to split that surface through a set of coordinate points. Is there anyway this can be done in Fluent?nThanks beforehand.nKind regards,nFrann -

Forum ModeratorYes. Have a look at the mesh manipulation tools and you'll want face separate and an adaption register. Note, it's not an exact split as the face is split based on the cells as Fluent doesn't know about the original geometry. n -

SubscriberHi Rob,nthanks for your help.nBut proceeding like this, I will need to re-run the simulation again with the split in the mesh. I would like to get the split in the postprocess so I can get forces on those two splitted surfaces.nKind regards,nFrann -

Forum ModeratorWhy? If you split the face in Fluent you don't lose any data. n
