Hi. Im doing a static structural analysis with pretension and pressure. It is a 2 step analysis. In the first step pretension apply and then in the second step pressure load apply.Â
Â
But after I solve it, in the stress graph stress is not starting from zero. Why is that? I'm also shairing the screenshot of it. Also, when pretension occur, stress is going down. How is that possible? Normally it must be start from 0,0 point to 1 second and whatever the stress gonna be and after that pretensions are locked and pressure occur at the second step. So stress must go higher and higher but it goes down in the first step

Hi, that does look strange. Where is this stress scoped to? What does the geometry look like? How and at what location is pressure applied in step 2? Based on the direction of the applied pressure, tension in the bolt may increase or decrease in step 2.
You can add some images to you post. That might help other understand the problem better.
