SubscriberHello,
a small question, I know that Autodyn software was designed to simulate dynamic events in such a really small time which is measured ofter by milliseconds. So I wanted to ask, is there a way to neglect the effect of strain rate while (for instance) applying axial load? Note that: a static damping coefficient value was intered)

Ansys EmployeeIf you are using Static Damping to remove the dynamic oscillations in a solution and thus simulate a state of static equilibrium in a quasi-state simulation, you don't need to include strain rate parameters in material properties in Engineering Data.Â
The program still calculates the strain rate of materials in the model. However, the strain rate will approach 0 finally due to the application of Static Damping.

SubscriberThat is a good idea, but the problem is that the failure deformation occured in a higher value than the conpressive stress value of the material.
for instance: the compressive strength of the material was 3500 kpa, I have applied an incremental stress value (trapizordal), in which the end pressure was way higher than the conpressive stregnth value of the material. The material BROKE on a stress of 4.71e3 kpa in which it is way higher than the stress that the material should fail to bear (3500 kpa)
shouldn't it break on 3500kpa if there was NO strain rate effect?
