stl geometry fluent meshing error

      Hi,

I m trying to create a polyhedral mesh from stl files imported via spaceclaim into ansys fluent meshing. I already checked my stl geometry in spaceclaim.... there were no problems detected

Unfortunatelly Im getting to console warning "failed to remesh ... areas...." (shown in the picture)

Is that a problem and how can I fix this?

You mentioned STL does not have any problem. How did you check it?
Best way is to create geometry from STL using different tools in SpaceClaim.
If you want to use STL in Fluent Meshing, please use outline view instead of workflow. Here you will need to use object based commands.
Please check help document for further details.

I used "check facets" under the facets tab in spaceclaim
Why do I need outline view?
Can I fix this with shrink-wrap?

Yes, you can use shrink wrap in SpaceClaim depending on your STL complexity.
Fluent Meshing also have wrapping technology. But for that you will need to use fault tolerant workflow or outline view.
