SubscriberHi everyone,nI am now using Static Structural module (Workbench) to obtain thermal expansion. There is only the effect of Body temperature changed in time. Do I need to use Transient Structural module? Because the temperature load is time dependent.n -

SubscribernIf you only care about the themo-elastic strain created when the temperature changed from one value at T=0 to another at the End Time, you don't need Transient, even if the Thermal analysis was transient.n -

SubscriberThat depends what you are looking at exactly. The transient solver solves each time step, so you will get information for every time step. How important is the exact behavior over time? If you want to look at thermal expansion after e.g. 5 minutes, the solutions for transient and steady-state might be similar if you have already reached an equilibrium at that point. If not, the solutions might be very different.n -

Thank you for your reply. I want to know values of the relative displacment caused by thermal expansion and other forces at differen time points. ( There are different values of temperature at diffenrent time steps). n -

Subscriber@ToanNguyen nI think in that case it would be best to run it as a transient analysis.n -

SubscriberHello dear friendsnI have some question about nonlinear analysis in transient structural.nI want to analysis a simple model of turbine with 8 sector in ansys, There is frictional contact between blads. preload and rotation velocity must be defined in static structure and traveling wave excitation is applied in transient structure.n1) Do you know that how can apply cyclic symmetry constraint in transient analysis? n2) How can I do the transient analysis after the static structure analysis under the preload and rotation velocity? nplease guide me.Thanksnsarann -

SubscriberHi Mr.peteroznewmannI will definitely do this. nDo you have a suggestion for my problem?n
