SubscriberHello,
my question is about the stall torque and copper loss distribution in permanent magnet synchronous machine.
I am using Motor-CAD for the simulation and have a motor with 9 slots and 3 phases. Each phase has 3 slots. If only 2 phases are energized and 1 phase has no load:
How much should be the "Number of slots in phase belt" as shown in below picture?
How should the loss Proportion looks like?

Ansys EmployeeHello Kassem,
The above setting is for transient fault analysis, and you need to use duty cycle, please review the help manual.
Please review "Uneven_Copper_Loss_Distribution.pdf", in tutorial folder, C:\ANSYS_Motor-CAD\2024_1_2\Tutorials. Thanks.

SubscriberHello HDLI,
thanks for your reply and for sharing the tutorial. I understood that by using the duty cycle the losses at 0 rpm are taken from the "Stall Operation Copper Loss Distribution". However how should I define the loss distibution, If only 2 phases are energized and 1 phase has no load? Â
Any help will be welcome!
