SubscriberActually, in my simulation, I want to study the solid cone spray particle deposition on the tank wall. For this with the unsteady conditions should I use the accretion model in DPM?Â
My current inputs and DPM model setting with the contours of Residence time and DPM concentration are as follows.Â
Kindly guide me about the accretion or deposition of particles on the tank wall. if possible share some relevant examples. thanks.Â

Forum ModeratorI've just tidied the other thread, in this case I'm assuming it's a Forum glitch but if a post does disappear please refresh the screen & give it a minute or so.Â
If it's a film you want to see you may find the Eulerian Wall Film to be of use. Using the Accretion model in combination with Trap is an older way of doing it, but EWF with film momentum off (to stop the film moving) may be nearer what you're after now. Or leave momentum on if you expect the film to slowly pour downwards.Â

SubscriberThanks for your reply. Actually, in my case, the outer wall is just a metallic tank stationary smooth wall. I want to see the sticking of the spray particles to the wall. In this case, still you will recommend of using the Eulerian wall film (EWF) model? Kindly guide me in this. thanks.

Forum ModeratorDPM won't build up, so even if the particles stick you'll just finish up with a thin layer of overlapping particles. Wall film will report a thickness, or accretion will report kg/m2/s but check the model reports all impacts.Â
