SubscriberHello,
First time on the forum, i'm trying to create stress classification lines in Spaceclaim, first using copy edge and then project the created edge on the inside surface of the shell (See image below). Copy edge works perfectly however when I try to project the created line on the inside surface it doesn't work, even if it works I get multiples lines superposed instead of one connected line, is there a better way to achieve this, in design modeler the projection works just fine, but I'm trying to create a script in Spaceclaim.
Any help is well appreciated !

Ansys EmployeeIf you are getting multiple projections, that is the default. It projects to everything that it can. You have to use the other toolbuttons in the Project operation. Use the "Select Target Faces" toolbutton (red arrow below) to select the intended face. When I do this, sometimes the results are not exactly as expected unless I also select the same face for the "Select Direction" toolbutton (blue arrow below):

Ansys EmployeeIs that the edge on a solid's face you have selected? In that case, the face is already split. Or is that a 3D curve you copied from an edge and moved? If you are trying to project that curve to the face, it may not work sine the direction would need to be radial at all points along the curve. You may need to split the 3D curve and face in half first by plane.
But it worked for me to just hold ctrl with the Pull tool while dragging, and select the correct yellow edge direction. You may need to select the tool to define the direction of the Pull:

SubscriberHello mjmiddle,
The edge is created using the pull tool with the copy edge option, then the goal is to project that edge on the inside surface of the nozzle.
Dividing the external surface using a plane seems to work fine i manage to create the inside edge successfully, but i m wondering if there is a better way to achieve this without having to divide the surface using a plane.
Thank you very much for your help.
