SubscriberHello,
I have the same problem as in this post but with student version 19.4 SpaceClaim. However, for some reason there's no SpaceClaim folder in my AppDataLocal.
Â
To sum it up:
- I've uninstalled Ansys few times and deleted all the Ansys folders and registers from previous Ansys versions before installing 19.4. But still there's nothing in AppDataLocal and SpaceClaim won't start.
- I've tried to rename AppDataRoamingSpaceClaim and ...Ansys.
- In regedit HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTSpaceClaim.AnsysSCDM.194 Path value is C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Studentv194scdm.
- I don't get error logs in here: C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Studentv194CADConfigLogs.
- Graphic card drivers for NVIDIA Quadro M2200 are up to date.
- Running Ans.CadInt.CADConfigUtilityGUI.exe as admin resulted into successful SCDM configuration.
- My system language is English and computer username one letter and one number.
- Event viewer gives the same errors about KERNELBASE.dll as in this post.
- Disabling anti-virus software or running as admin didn't do the trick.
- I can open workbench but unfortunately it won't work with an imported step file.
Â
Any help is appreciated!

Ansys EmployeeThanks for trying all those.
The issue happens when you are trying to import step file ?
Do you also have issue launching SpaceClaim ? Can you launch a stand-alone SpaceClaim (SCDM) ?
Thanks,
Win

SubscriberTo be more precise, I tried to bypass SpaceClaim by importing a step file but then the Mechanical didn't start. Yes, I can't launch a stand-alone SpaceClaim (SCDM) from start menu or from workbench.

Ansys EmployeeYou seem to have multiple issues since opening Mechanical is totally different than opening stand-alone SpaceClaim.
Can you post the full details of this kernelbase.dll issue from event viewer?
Go to C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS Studentv194 and look for 'prereq' folder, then manually rerun all of the installers in here (except those related to MPI, if exist). You should see all successful. If some fail, then that might be the issue.
Thanks,
Win
