I am doing simulation uing the DPM model. At the calculations, I can choose a fixed time step or adaptive time step. My aim is to run the simulation for about 2000 seconds. In case if the simulation get interuupted, how can I restart the simulation to continue with where it left off? I am running the simulation on the supercomputer since it need more computaional time.Â

Use autosave to write data files, and use it to resume the simulation

hank you for the reply. I have tried something like what you said said but let me make sure I am doing the right thing. So I auto-save the output files during simulation. The prefered output file format i generate is .dat files. It also comes with .cgns files, but I prefer the .dat files because I want to use Tecplot360 post-processor. Withe .dat files, I also get .cas file, which I guess is the case file for the simulation. So are you suggetsing that if I wan to re-run the simulation I should import the .cas file and run it again? Will that continue from where it left off or it will also generate files from the beginning of the simulations? Or should I rathe import the last .dat file from the simulation to re-run? I am attaching an image to it so you can have a look.Â
