smooth swap mesh

hello, i had a mesh with minimal ortho quality of 0.09. i tried the feature 'smooth/swap' mesh in fluent. it increased the quality to 0.4. i read somewhere that you can only use the smooth/swap option in series cases not parallel. my grid is 3D and has many cells so cant run it in series as it will take forever. can anyone guide me please. i am using workbench 15

First off, update to 2020R1 : R15 is over 5 years old and you'll see a huge benefit in terms of speed, models and robustness.  Otherwise, there's nothing stopping you using serial to do the smoothing and then restarting Fluent using the smoothed case file.

      Yes, update to 2020R1.

And min orthogonal quality of 0.09 is good enough. You can proceed with this quality.

Thanks for your response. I opened up the setup in parallel and performed the smoothing of the mesh. Its working, seems like even for R15, the smoothing works fine. I tried to look for this limitation in R15 manual but could not find it. How can i confirm if its a limitation or not for R15. btw, already in a process to upgrade to R2020.

Quickest way to check a limitation is to try and see what happens. The manual also lists most limitations of models/tools: check the Theory Guide too as they're sometime there rather than the User's Guide.
