SubscriberHi,
I have a geometry that I'm trying to mesh in Siemens NX. The problem is that the simulation I want to perform does not work if I'm using anything other than TRI3 elements, i.e. TRI6, QUAD4 and QUAD8. Either the geometry when imported in Dyna looks completely weird, or it looks fine but the simulation doesn't go through as it should (the geometry 'disappears' immediately in the d3plot file). I'm sure there are more details to be mentioned that I can tell you if needed, but this is the main problem.
Any tips on why this might be? Thanks in advance. -

Ansys EmployeeHello Henrik,
Have you tried to mesh your geometry with another pre-processor such as LS-PrePost or Ansys Workbench Mechanical?
Have you checked that the .k file output from Siemens NX is correct? Does the keywords *NODE and *ELEMENT agree with the LS-DYNA user manual vol I?
https://lsdyna.ansys.com/manuals/
If not, contact Siemens to have it corrected.
Let me know how it goes.

Reno.
