Subscriberhi all,
i would like to perform a building simulation. the radiation from the sun will be taken into account.
here i have a question about setting the solar irradiation in the setting card.
which direction of the direct irradiation does it mean? i mean it can be horizontal irradiance or tilted irradiance or normal irradiance.
which irradiance does the input of direct irradiance mean?
thanks for the help!

AdministratorHello You should be able to specify the Sun Direction Vector of the sun.
Regarding the definitions of Direct and Diffuse Irradiations, please take a look at the following link.
https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v211/en/flu_ug/flu_ug_Radiation_Model.html?q=solar%20radiation
I hope this helps.

SubscriberHi Karthik
thanks for the reply.
i know wen can define the sun direction.
but i dont know how ansys defines the direct solar irradiation because if depends on the observed area.
i couldnt open the link, nor login to the custom portal.
Could you please briefly here describe whats their definitions in ansys?
that would help a lot thanks!

SubscriberHi Karthik
i had already read the help documentation before.
there is no clear definition of the direct radiation
it shows:
Illumination Parameters
Direct Solar Irradiation
is the amount of energy per unit area due to direct solar irradiation.
it basically doesnt explain which direct radiation i should use as input (the value of horizontal irradiance, or normal irradiance)
regards
