SubscriberGood day house. Does anyone know any strategy using Fluent to simulate the drying of a porous material such as wet wood? The problem is to simulate a dryer with air entering at a certain temperature and humidity to dry logs of wood and the air exits at a lower temperature and higher humidity. Thanksn -

Ansys EmployeeHello, nAs a first try, you will need to test with Species Transport. Once you have the liquid water and water vapor as mixture material, you should be able to see Relative Humidity as one of the post processing variables which will help in setting up the initial conditions properly.nYou can check this link to get more information : https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v211/en/flu_ug/flu_ug_sec_non_react.html?q=relative%20humiditynYou also might need to check for Inter phase species mass transfer. You can model Air + H2O vapor as one phase and H2O (liquid) as the other phase. Drying will occur once mass transfer starts from liquid h2o to the vapor phase, thus increasing the humidity content of the initially dry air.nYou can provide your own mass transfer rates from literature or can make use of existing mass transfer mechanisms in Fluent. nRegards,nSDn -
