We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

      Hi all,

this email to inform you about a tremendous BUG in sheet-metal that is blocking for the manufacturing depts.

As you can see in the video attached if I select the opposite faces to calculate the flatten view works well in the flatten (3D) but is completely wrong (overturned) in the drawing

This wrong behaviour makes disasters in manufacturing dept.! The drawing is wrong and they cut the pieces overturned.

This has been reported in the past.  I have to check what the status is.  I believe at one point a defect may have been filed.

The development team is aware of this and there are discussions on how best to address the issue.

Here was the explanation of the behavior from the development team:

Bend annotations (angle and up/down bend lines) are local properties of an unfolded part.

These properties (lines/text entities in SpaceClaim) depend on the viewing direction of the “unfolded part” and not the global x/y/z reference frame

In a drawing with standard views (elevation/plan and side view), the viewing directions are fixed with respect to the global x/y/z frame.

Hence local unfolded entities (lines/text entities) from the unfolded part may/may not represent their semantic meaning as created using unfolded part’s reference frame.
