This quarter model has an acceptable mesh that includes inflation and other mesh controls. I lengthened the bolt to put the midpoint at the top of the cube to have nodes line up for the contact definitions.

I sliced the Bolt to get the nodes to line up at the top of the block.
After the bolt is sliced and the two bodies are placed in a multibody part, the mesh fails to honor the shared topology.

I'm disappointed that there is not a clear warning that the shared topology has failed.
If all the mesh controls are removed from the Bolt, then the shared topology works.
