SubscriberWhy can't the wall for the fluid domain (in the boundary condition) be set for the fluid material in the thermal condition section?
if I want to simulate convection heat transfer from a plate to the air, what thermal conditions for air do I choose and what material is it made of? (because it can only choose solid material)

Ansys EmployeeHello,
The "Wall" as the name suggests cannot be a fluid, it needs to be a solid. If you need other solid materials, you need to first define the new solid material in Materials > Solid section. Then you can set the desired material properties for air and solid in the same section.

Subscriberbut at that boundary condition I define the fluid and the material in the cell zone as well as air. if it really can't be like you said, then the air that is convected by this plate should I define what thermal condition? (if the plate has thermal condition convection)

Ansys EmployeeThen, you have many options, contant temperature BC or const. heat flux BC, radiation or mixed. If you are performing CHT then coupled. You can choose any of these.
