Seeking Guidance: To Learn Ansys Mechanical for Beginners

      Hello,

I'm looking to start my journey in learning Ansys Mechanical, but as a beginner, I'm struggling to figure out where to begin. Currently, I've enrolled in Ansys Innovation courses and am actively working on solving simulations in the practice section. However, I find it challenging to grasp the underlying reasons behind certain commands, especially in explicit dynamics, such as the use of initial time step, maximum time step, dummy thickness, etc. While I've attempted to consult the Ansys Mechanical Guide, its vast amount of information is overwhelming. I have a basic understanding of solid mechanics. If anyone could provide guidance on the best step-by-step approach to learning, it would be immensely helpful.

      Thank you!

      Hi Shihab,

To start learning about explicit dynamics, I would suggest that you check the following course: Explicit Dynamics Theory - Ansys Innovation Course - YouTube

For more advanced topics, if you have access to Ansys learning hub or ALH (Home - Ansys Campus (sapjam.com)), you can go to the Structural Building, and then select Explicit Dynamics for a list of courses available in this area.
