I do not have access to this course. Please attach a snapshot of Mechanical, where you have created a section plane (which is active) and where it is not working as expected.Â
I attached a snapshot using section plane at my end. Is your section plane active (check box next to section plane, as highlighted below in red box)

You might have to toggle the Sections window. Please see here.
If it's greyed out, please see this post.
If nothing works you might want to use Reset Layout.Â
