SubscriberHi,
Is there a way to pause (or interrupt) a mechanical (static or transient) simulation in WB, close all the ANSYS windows, turn the computer off and resume the same model later, without losing the progress?
thanks

SubscriberYes. If you have at least one converged substep, then you can click the interrupt button and save the project. Then you can shut down the computer. After the computer starts and Workbench is started, the project file opened and Mechanical opened, you can set the Analysis setting to Restart the simulation from the last converged substep.

SubscriberHello,
where can I find the "Restart the simulation from the last converged substep" in the Analysis settings? I looked up in restart controls but I couldn't find it.
Thank you

SubscriberYes, there is a way to pause (or interrupt) a mechanical (static or transient) simulation in Ansys Workbench, close all the ANSYS windows, turn the computer off and resume the same model later without losing the progress. You can click “Interrupt Solution” in the ANSYS Workbench Solution Status window that pops up during solution. This will pause the solution and allow you to look at the results so far. When you are ready to resume the simulation, you can simply click “Resume Solution” in the same window.
