I have solved a static structural analysis in ANSYS Mechanical. I need the results at a specific value of total strain energy (4e6mJ). I know the time at which this result should occur (2.25s) and it happens between 2 of the timesteps that ANSYS has solved at (2.2s and 2.3s). I was under the impression that if I put in a strain energy result into solution and change the display time to 2.25s then ANSYS would automatically interpolate the results and return the correct total energy and this would be represented in the graphics plot. However, when I do this ANSYS is just returning the energy for the closest timestep it solved for (2.2s). I will attach pictures of the strain energy results table and the results at 2 display times. What might be the reason that ANSYS isn't doing the interpolation?

Change this to a two step analysis where step 1 ends at 2.25 seconds.Â
