Requesting HPC instances or increasing Quota on AWS

Ansys provides recommended AWS instance types for the use of Ansys Simulation Software

Once you set up your VPC on the AWS, you need to request a quota for different instance types.
By default, AWS grants quota for On-Demand Standard Instances [C, M, R, T instances] for each region.
      This doesn't include On-Demand HPC instances [hpc6a, hpc7a, or hpc6id].

For more details on the Service Quotas, see https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-resource-limits.html.

To request additional or new quotas, you need to log in to the Service Quotas Console.

To increase your quota or add on-demand HPC instances, click on Quota increase:

      and follow the prompts.

      Service Quota Name

      • Running On-Demand G and VT instances
      • Running On-Demand Standard (A, C, D, H, I, M, R, T, Z) instances
      • Running On-Demand HPC instances

Please note that the quota is listed in terms of virtual CPUs for standard on-demand instances. The physical cores are generally half of that.
