SubscriberHello, I have ANSYS student 19.0 but I have license expiry of 10 days (currently un-installed). Is there any way to renew my license or when I install again, will it become normal. Please my my doubt clear as ANSYS is needed for my project analysis.

Ansys EmployeeHi Ananth ,
Yes, you can renew your licenses.
See steps here

Ansys EmployeeThe real steps from that thread is in my first post.
######
You don't need to install a new version but you would have to download the new installation package which would includes extended license file.
Once you have the package, unzip it, and go to 'student' folder. You will see 'WINX64.7z' in here. Un-compress this file and go inside Shared FilesLicensing folder. Here, there is a 'student.lic' file. Take this file and replace the one in your current installation (default is C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS StudentShared FilesLicensingstudent.lic)

Ansys EmployeeLicense file is not specific for any version (or student package). You can download any package/version on there and just use it with your version

Ansys EmployeeNo. No installation required.
- download any package/version from the website, for example ANSYSACADEMICSTUDENT_192_WINX64.zip
- unzipped it to ANSYSACADEMICSTUDENT_192_WINX64 folder
- go inside ANSYSACADEMICSTUDENT_192_WINX64 folder  - > student folder - > you will see WINX64.7z .
- Unzip this to WINX64 folder, then go inside the folder -> Shared Files -> Licensing -> Here, you will see 'student.lic' file
- Copy this 'student.lic' file to wherever ANSYS is installed on your machine (default location,  C:Program FilesANSYS IncANSYS StudentShared FilesLicensing) and replace your old student.lic file in the installed directory.
- This will renew your license.

SubscriberOkay, for renewing license of ANSYS Product, one has to download around 3 GB file and use some KB to renew. Please do recommend ansys to make an option to download separate license file only for specified products. Thanks for your answer.

Forum ModeratorWe'll add that into the requests. However, the purpose of ANSYS Student is to allow you to use the software and learn so for that objective there are few reasons not to update to the latest version when your licence runs out: the exception would be the MOOCs we support.Â

Ansys EmployeeI agree with Rob.Â
My trick above just helps you to avoid it (and also save some time), which may not be good for the main purpose of ANSYS Student .
