SubscriberI 've noticed that when using remote displacement boundary conditons, the solver creates a CONTA174 and a TARGET170 element.Â
I assume that the formulation of a remote displacement is based on R-type elements, so therefore I am looking for proper documentation to understand how the solver treats this BC by using contact elements.Â

In mechanical it uses like you found out contact and target elements for remote displacements.
There is a description in the help manual that describes - search in help for more info:
