Hello,Â
I am finding the AC resistance of the Litz wire having different dimensions like
0.15mm and 100 strands;
0.16mm and 100 strands;
0.2mm and 300 strands;
The outer diameter of the conductor is same 2mm for all cases. I followed exact procedure illustrated in the Ansys Maxwell manual but for all cases, AC resistance is same but it should be different.
Why stranded effects of Litz wire is not reflected in the simulation?? Please reply me.

Hello Poonam,Â
Please follow below steps:
- Create a circle in 2d Maxwell Eddy current solver.
- Assign Copper on that circle, while assigning clone the copper and select the composion as litz and enter the values as given belowÂ
3. Assign coil terminal on that circle and enter the no. of conductors as 1.
4. Add that coil terminal to winding as given belowÂ
5. Add the parameters for parametric analysis as belowÂ
6. set the operating frequency and enable the matrix on the winding and run the model.
7. We can define the Rac and Rdc as given below
8. We will get below results for 1 meter length conductorÂ
9. We can check Rac in the solution matrix tab alsoÂ
Â
Hope this will help you.
Â
Thank you,
Harinath Vudumula.
