Hello.
I've recently updated Lumerical FDTD in my lab's cluster.
After updating FDTD (v211 -> v241), our nodes fails to connect to license server when running jobs (floating license).
(error message below)
node1(process 0): License error: Could not connect to Ansys license server specified at
This only happens to every node when I submit the job to the cluster through HPC cluster manager. The job immediately fails (like 1s after submitting) showing the error message above.
However, no error occurs when I open the FDTD GUI in the head node or individual nodes.
I've checked the licensing host and firewall rules but couldn't find the solution.

Hello Yun,
What version of the License Manager are you currently running?

Hello.
We used to have our own license in our own server, but currently we aren't running the license manager in our own server.
Would the license manager's version matter?
I'll check with the License administrator.
I've found out that v232 and v241 both shoot license errors in our Windows server, but v211 works OK.
However, v231 seems to work normally in our Linux server.
Thank you.

Hi Yun,
Where are you getting your licenses from?
Please check if the license manager is up and running on the machine where you are checking out the licenses and showing the licenses available for checkout.
>>Ansys license management center (overview) – Ansys Optics (using the web interface/GUI if you have access to the machine running the licenses)
>>How to check license status and availability – Ansys Optics (from the command prompt)Also, send the screenshot of your license configuration from the client machines for comparison between those that work and those that are not working.
>> Lumerical license configuration with the Ansys Optics Launcher
>> Lumerical license configuration from the command line
