SubscriberProcess '3dedy' terminated abnormally. This problem has come during Eddy current simulation of a coil. There is no problem with memory. I would like to know the meaning of '3dedy'. What could be the reason for error? When i reduced the number of turns in the 'complex coil', simulation completed successfully. How to complete with required number of turns. Please help.

Ansys Employee3dedy is a 3D eddy current solver.

what is the mesh size and how much RAM do you have ?

Ansys Employeeplease provide integer of mesh size and confirm that you have 16Gb of RAM on your machine

SubscriberWhere I've to provide integer mesh size?
I've reduced mesh size in solver settings recently now im getting the error
"For any conduction path, the current flowing in must be equal to current flowing ooutwards" -

Ansys Employeeyou can get this number from mesh statistics
Â
Â
so since reducing the mesh size helped I assume you were out of RAM
Â
please read about excitations, you need assign the same value as in current (say 10A) and output current (also 10A but outwards)

SubscriberI would like to know which one is good for induction coil study analysis, now im usong ansys mechanical. Previous errors are shown in ansys aim. One doubt is can i assign i/p and o/p current option. I haven't seen any option in aim -

SubscriberYes, Excitation current is given to terminal.
Parameters -> Assign -> Matrix -> // only setup option is coming.

SubscriberI am also facing the same problem "Process '3dedy' terminated abnormally". The simulation completes when i use different material(Alluminum alloy 6061 T6), but when i use different materials(like stainless steel 410 or Invar), it shows "Process '3dedy' terminated abnormally". I have 16 gb RAM. How to solve this problem?
