SubscriberI have created a 2D surface in spaceclaim (attached) but when I import in ansys mesh I get the following messages. I have preselected 2DÂ analysis type.
- PlugIn Error: Attach failed.
- PlugIn Error: Failed to import assembly from SpaceClaim. No bodies to transfer.
- Surface body "Pipe" was invalid for a 2D analysis and was not transferred. Ensure that the body lies completely on the XY plane and its bounding box does not have a Z-component
- Surface body "Fluid" was invalid for a 2D analysis and was not transferred. Ensure that the body lies completely on the XY plane and its bounding box does not have a Z-component
Â
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

SubscriberProblem solved, surface was not on the XY axis replaced it now works fine.

Forum ModeratorFor Fluent you've got to put it on xy plane as you've found. For 2d axi-symmetric you also need the model to be in the +y part of the plane: the axis is hard coded at y=0.Â
Thanks for letting us know.Â

Ansys Employeegood that it is resolved.Â
default plane in spaceclaim is xz plane. so you will always need to rotate it and create sketch in xy plane to proceed to 2d simulation.Â
as this is solved, can you mark it as 'is solution' to help others on forum.Â

SubscriberMaybe it would be good to change the default plane to xy? Or at least make sure that Ansys and SpaceClaim communicate?
