SubscriberHi everyone,
I am trying to model a truss block for a tunneling boring machine and I am having various issue.
Modeling with Design Modeller In ANSYS R17.0, and in Explicit Dynamics
First I had to solve the error saying Problem terminated...Energy error too large by inputting the same quantity of cycles in maximum Number of Cycles and Reference Energy Cycle
Then I got this error message: Error writting history file.
I do get some results but clearly not the entire process is completed and some force are missing:
Has anyone encountered the same issue before?
Having modificated the number of cycle, will it impact the results?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help,
Jules

SubscriberHi Peteroznewman,
thanks for your quick reply
It is true that I am low in disk space, but I have 3 GB left. How much space would you recommend me to free to run the file?

SubscriberDear Peteroznewman,
Thanks for your help so far, I actually went on freeing some space on my disk and with 10 GB left I finally could run through all the cycles.
I have some more question if you may:
Here below, you can see that I am not able to run the solver again when doing a right clic on the Solution. Any Idea why that might be?
Also, I can't seem to figure out why the corner of my block disapear when they enter the red spectrum of stress, see below:
Thanks in advance for your reply,
Jules

SubscriberRight click on the Solution Information folder under the Solution branch. What do you see?
When I submit a job for Background Solve, I get that kind of green lightening bolt.
Maybe you can Clear Generated Data and start the Solve again.
I recently ran a Transient Structural model and it used up 1.1 TB of disk space!

Subscriber1.1 TB! Cheers to that!
When I right click on the solution information folder, I get this
It won't even let me clear the generated data. Odd...
If you don't see any trivial solution, I'll just remodel the whole thing.
I have one more question though, would'nt it be best suited to model this block + rebars in static structural analysis?
