Problem on Solar generation monitor settings

I've given my simulate structure of Perovskite solar cell below.

I've used nanowire as  perovskite material. When i used to calculate the solar generation rate using the solar generation monitor I've found 100 mA/cm^2 current in the absorber layer when i took the solar generation monitor size is equal to the perovskite material size.

But if i took the solar generation monitor size equal to the FDTD monitor size then i got the optical generation current 20 mA/cm^2.

Now I've a question what is the actual measurement of the solar generation rate monitor. Will i take it equal to the absorber material size or take it eual to the FDTD region size for periodic structure?

When there are other materials with loss/absorption, different monitor size may cover different materials so the absorption calculated will be different. In your case, Please make sure that the monitor only covers the region where the absorbed light power can be converted into e-h carriers.

I would suggest to set larger monitor size along the periodic BCs, eg, extend it to the outside of the BCs.

So, your sujjestion is to set the monitor size bigger than the periodic bc rather the small area of the hexagonal nanowire? Firstly i think that the maximum electron and hole pair is generated in the absorber region than that of the other region. So, to set it equal to the size of the hexagonal nanowire.
