Problem: 4023 of band mesh nodes are shared by both moving and static objects.

When I'm running analysis of my model, the problem "4023 of band mesh nodes are shared by both moving and static objects" occurs. How can I solve this kind of problem? The structure of my model is shown below (sorry that I mark "stator" and "rotor" opposite, the pink one should be the stator.) ).

      Updates:

I still don't know the reason of this problem... However, I checked my model and found that the band I previously drew consisted of a cylinder, so I corrected it into a polyhedron. This time, after I ran simulation, mistakes appeared like these: Surface recovery failure. Possible reasons: (1). Model has multiple objects with thin layers. (2). Complex model with object overlapping. (3). True surfaces are skewed. These reasons seems easy to understand literally, but I don't know what they truly mean, especially (1) and (3). Could anyone please tell me how to check for these reasons and solve the problem? Thanks a lot!!!

Hi Juefei, All moving objects must be included in band object, could you show the band object? If the rotor and stator are marked opposite, is the PM on the stator (pink object)?

Yes, PM is on the stator. And the band is like this~ Thanks for helping~

Thanks for clarification, here are some tips about band that you can try:

          1. All moving objects must be geometertrically separated from stationary objects, and there is no overlapping during the movement.

          2. All moving object must be enclosed by band object, band should be segmented and not a true surface.

          3. If there is more than one moving parts, or the one moving parts has holes on it. It is strongly recommended to add an inner band object to enclosing all moving parts. Innver band must be smaller than band, and fully enclosed by the band without overlapping with it. There should be enough room between the container and the band to allow motion. During the movement, the inner band will not touch the band.

Thanks for your tips. I've made sure of tip no.1 and 2 (though I wonder what a true surface is... not really sure of the definition...). About tip no.3, I've drawn an "air-rotor" following the instructions in the "getting started guide". Is it equal to inner band?

Again thanks for your help. I've been using MAXWELL for my graduation thesis, and there's few people around me who can help.????
