Probing displacement along the centerline of a hollow shaft

      Greetings everyone,

I am performing  a static analysis of a complex shaft system, as shown in the attached picture. I want to probe the displacement of the highlighted hollow shaft's virtual centerline to calculate misalignments. In other words, I want to calculate the deformation of each of the shaft's sections' geometric centre. I used a path to get this result for the non-hollow shafts, but apparently this can not do the trick this time.

      Any suggestions?

      Thanks in advance!

      Hi,

Try creating a path based on coordinate systems and create coordinate systems based on desired end points for the path.

      Regards,

      Ashish Kumar

      Dear Ashish,

      Thank you for your response.

I have a already tried this. It works only for the solid shafts. In this case, the path wouldn't cross any elements of the hollow shaft since its centreline is not part of the body.
