I wanted to use the cost estimator for the material Press Hardening Steel, 22MnB5, austenized & H2O quenched, coated. In the selection of the primary process the only similar possibility is Hot closed die forging. Subsequently the material undergoes hardening but there is no possibility of choosing other processes other than geometry transformation (Shape). Also, manually looking into surface treatment processes but nothing with tempering. How could I best characterize the cost of the material?

Hello And thank you for your question. I am assuming that you want to calculate the cost of producing a part from that material, rather than obtaining just the material cost.
The part cost estimator field for primary or secondary process, only apply to shaping processes, and does not include all processes in the Process database. Additionally, press hardening also known as hot stamping, hot press forming, or hot forming die quenching, is not one of our process record. We only have classic press forming.
The Part cost estimator does allow you to use your own added process as mentioned here: https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/Granta/v242/en/Edu_Pack_Help/sel_edu/using_part_cost.html
For that, on Tools, add record, select "other" option and chose Process universe. An alternative is to duplicate an existing record, and just change the properties which should be different. For that you can open the record you want to copy, and use right click->duplicate.
Once populated the created record should be visible in the Part cost estimator. You do not need to fill in all the fields of a created record, and can focus only on the ones necessary for the part cost estimator calculations. You will find those here: https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/Granta/v242/en/Edu_Pack_Help/sel_edu/part_cost_calculations.html
Hope this helps. -

thanks so much for the reply the point though is that I don't have this data so I can customize or modify an existing process. This is why I was wondering where I could find information on this particular process so I could use it on the Granta. Alternatively, what could be a combination of the processes present on the Granta so as to be able to "simulate" a Press Hardening
