Post-processing transient Fluent case with PyDPF

      Hi there,

I have been using ANSYS Fluent (2025 R2) to run some URANS cases and using the 'data sampling' feature to time average the results. I have been using ANSYS PyDPF (latest version) to create an automated workflow for post-processing my results, however I have found that it only reads a limited number of fields from the .dat.h5 file. In particular, I would like to export the time averaged wall_shear_stress and vorticity fields, however the only the "mean_" temperature, velocity and static pressure fields are available in "model.metadata.result_info". On closer inspection, when I see all possible available attributes for "operators.result" I see that there are only a finite number of results operators across structural and fluids applications (that don't inlcude mean wall_shear_stress or vorticity fields), which limits what post-processing I am able to do.

Is there a planned update to include all fields in ANSYS PyDPF?

In the meantime, are there any work arounds that I could use for loading these fields into PyDPF?

      Thank you!

      Hello,

Due to the opensource character of PyFluent (and PyAnsys generally) the Forum support is handled differently compared to our main products like Fluent and Mechanical.

Assistance on PyFluent (and PyAnsys generally) can be found through the community-oriented platform github (https://github.com/ansys) in place to help people who are exploring and working in this area. Hosted on github, this offers a range of resources including examples and documentation alongside a discussion forum where you can ask questions to members, including Ansys staff. And naturally we encourage you to participate actively to make this a success.

Okay, thank you! I've continued the discussion here: https://github.com/ansys/pyansys/discussions/1062
