SubscriberAfter calculating fluent DPM, how can I show the mass conc of the solid particles on some cross plane?

Rob
Forum ModeratorI find contours to be quite effective.Â

SubscriberThank you. But I used the contours of pressure, density, velocity, turbulence, discrete phase variables, discrete phase sources, properties, wall fluxes, cell info, mesh, residuals, derivatives and anyone could show my wanted. Wasn't my DPM model coupled? However, I could see my solid particles tracks in particle tracks.Â

Forum ModeratorCouple the particles and run the model until you have an update on the tracks. Concentration should now be available. Remember the DPM is Langrangian on the Euler fluid solution.Â

Forum ModeratorCan you replot with node values off?Â

SubscriberSorry, I can't. I used Post in CFD-Post and I don't find the option about node values. Do I need Post in Fluent?

Rob
Forum ModeratorAh, do the post processing in Fluent. CFD Post doesn't work as well especially with particle tracks.Â

Forum ModeratorCan you post a screen shot of the DPM panel?Â

Forum ModeratorThat's more or less the same set up as I'm using on a client case. Can you replot with local range and turn off node values. You may also want to increase the number of streams as 2 per cone is a little coarse and I'd set the start/stop angle to 0 and 359 degrees.Â

Forum ModeratorGo to the contours panel and plot the contour you had earlier, but with local range and with node values deselected. The scatter on the xy plot means you have a DPM Concentration, so the model set-up is mostly there.Â

SubscriberThank you. And I don't find local range in my contours panel, so I try to select auto range.
Maybe I made it ! I used R-R distribution in DPM model and then I could get a picture of DPM conc on outlet plane.
However, selected node values and not, the DPM conc max is different. Why? What is the true number?

Forum ModeratorNot global is local: may not translate well or be as obvious as I thought! Â
The difference is graphics smoothing. Node values ticked will give smooth contours, off is the exact facet/cell value. As the mesh is refined the values will match.Â
