Nice to meet you. I'm a university student in Japan and I'm using ANSYS Fluent for my research.
I am using ANSYS Fluent for my research and I have a question about the setup of porous media.
In my simulation, water passes through filling layer which is filled with a spherical solid material.
To set up the filling layer, I think I need to mark the porous in the cell zone condition settings and enter the appropriate values to reflect the filling layer.
The numerical values I enter within porous are calculated from the following equation based on ANSYS guidelines. However, when I displayed the results in the animation, I expected the shape to be far from the filled layer.
Figures 1 through 3 show the ANSYS guidelines for setting the filling layer, the ANSYS Fluent screen I entered, and the simulation results, respectively. I also set Dp=0.002 [m] and ε=0.36 in my calculations.
I don't know how to solve this problem. I would appreciate your advice.

Are you showing the contour of a cross-sectional plane? What is this variable 'Temp_change'? Please elaborate and provide some details to help us understand.

In my simulation, I am studying the heat exchange between a reciprocating fluid flow and a porous medium in a channel with a porous medium of varying temperature.
Specifically, the porous medium represents a packed layer of spherical material.
In other words, we are simulating the temperature change when a fluid flows through a channel with a large amount of spherical materials that generate and absorb heat.
From here, I will reply to your questions.
Òâ╗Are all of them porous regions?
In the simulation, there are areas that are porous and areas that are not.
Does it show the outline of the cross-sectional view?
It is a cross-sectional view of the porous region and shows the temperature.
Òâ╗What does the variable "Temp_change" mean?
As mentioned above, the filling layer, which represents porosity, either exothermic or endothermic in a time-dependent manner. This contour diagram shows the temperature, specifically the temperature change of the packing layer per unit time step. The problem here is that the porosity of the fluid is 0.36, yet the area of the packed layer that would change in temperature is small.
