SubscriberHi,
I am simulating a clamping behaviour in ANSYS structure.
The object is a pipe clamp, the main goal is to :
1. Determine the size of the screw that can clamp the ring (M6 can offer up to 10,000N pretension).2. Understand the stress and strain in the aluminium ring body.Â
3.Determine how big the gap can be between the ring.
The contact tool info is shown below, and it seems alright to me.
Bolt pretension is set up as shown below with maximum to 868N, 10 steps starts from 50N :
The error is showing a magnitude limit was exceeded, which doesnt make sense to me?
Not sure which part I set it incorrectly....
Â
I am new to ANSYS, so please do let me know if you need more info about the setting, if I can express my question in a clearer way.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
You can try to debug using the node number in the error message. This error generally indicates that some body is underconstrained or some contact is missing.
Regards.
