Hello everyone,
Is it necessary all the time to use unwrap function while extracting the phase information ? I am getting almost the correct value for phase without using unwrap function and when i use that i am getting a bizarre value for angle.Â

In general it is not necessary to use "unwrap", except that you want to have a continuous curve as a function of some parameter. The "unwrap" function creates phase based on a reference point, usually the first frequency point if the result is for phase vs frequency. When the reference point changes the result will change.
