SubscriberHello,
I am using the parameter set feature of the Fluid Flow (Fluent) system on Ansys Workbench, for a parametric analysis I am making. I parametrized a geometric quantity. When I click update all design points for a parameter set of 100, it updates the geometry and mesh successfully but is stuck in the solving phase of the update. It does not yield results and move on to the next parameter. However, when doing the simulations by updating geometry, mesh and setup from workbench manually and then opening Fluent to solve the case, it successfully converges with the standard scaled residual and user defined residual criteria and yields results. From what I can gather, fluent starts solving the case but never stops, regardless of the convergence parameters or the number of iterations I specify. Can anyone help me solve this issue?
Best,

Ansys EmployeeHi,
Please check if the Solution cell properties show Solution Process -> Update option as "Run in Background"? If it is, then set it to "Run in Foreground". This ensures that all the design points are updated serially rather than in parallel.Â

SubscriberYes, it is in the Run in Foreground configuration and the issue persists. In the serial update that should happen, the first simulation in the series never ends and thus Fluent does not proceed to the next simulation in the series.
