I'm trying to model an air-cooled chiller in Discovery. I need some help with defining temperature boundary condition at outlet - the condenser fans.
I know: air inlet mass flow rate, air inlet temperature, and heat added to air as it passes over the condenser/through the chiller. Heat exchanged, i.e. chiller capacity, is not a constant, but depends on inlet temperature, and I know this function.
I would like to know if there was a way for me to set the air outlet temperature as function of the other variables. In the most simplistic terms: T_out ~ T_in + Q / V_in. I think this can be done in workbench by assigning "function" to the outlet, but I'm not sure how to do it in Discovery. Or if there is a better way to do this.
Thank you.

Hello Milos,Â
Currently it is not possible to define temperature (both at inlet/outlet) as a function of the other varaibles in Ansys Discovery. The Temperature condition simulates maintaining the defined temperature over the selected geometry. Â
A temperature condition will either add or remove heat from a body depending on the other thermal conditions applied to the simulation model. Basically, the face will be maintained at the specified temperature and the amount of heat transferred through the face will adjust accordingly.
Please refer Getting Started - Thermal - Ansys Knowledge for more information on Thermal, CHT analysis in Ansys Discovery.Â
Thanks,
DevendraÂ
