      Hello

I am using Ansys 2022 R1 to practice the tutorial "OSCILLATING PLATE FSI WITH FLUENT AND MECHANICAL".

In "Load Results into CFD-Post", the Structural system's Solution cell cannot be connected to the Fluid system's Results cell.

Could you please explain how to manage the problem?

      Thank you.

      Hello,

You can view the System Coupling results in Ensight. Load the results of the coupling participants to Ensight (Fluent/ CFX, Mecanical and SyC Results).

You can refer to a Reed Valve tutorial from /forum/wp-content/uploads/forum-uploads/149/HUBQN99F4L5X.pdf

      Hope that helps!!

      Hello,

Please refer following tutorial to know more about post-processing of FSI results in Ensight: Postprocessing System Coupling's Co-Simulation Results (ansys.com).

      Hope this helps!

      Hello

I was wondering why in "Load Results into CFD-Post", the Structural system's Solution cell (A6) cannot be connected to the Fluid system's Results cell (B6), please. Is there any technical issue? How to manage the problem to see the Structural system's Results in CFD-Post? Currently, CFD-Post can show only the Fluid Results; however, according to the following tutorial instruction, it should be able to show both results. I need to use CFD-Post rather than Ensight. Load Results into CFD-Post (ansys.com)

      Thank you.

      Hi

You are referring to tutorial created in the older version. CFD post does not support reading Mechanical 2021 or later result file, so it will not allow you to do so.  As you are using the 2022R1, please refer to the tutorials created in the same version here: System Coupling Tutorials (ansys.com).

Thank you for the information. I have tried the above tutorial for the oscillating plate with CFX and Mechanical as explained in the tutorial. It explains the making animation of Mesh displacements, Incremental Displacement, Force per unit area, etc., It would be very helpful if you could guide how to check and display the Total deformation, and Von Mises stress of the solid body (plate) on the Esight interface. Also, Is it possible to do the coupling analysis of the aircraft wing in the fluid domain following the same setup? Thanks

Please refer a postprocessing tutorial to know more about postprocessing in Ensight Postprocessing System Coupling's Co-Simulation Results (ansys.com).

Yes, you can do aircraft wing coupled analysis by following same setup.

Hi, Can you please help me how to assign orthotropic material in ansys workbench? I want to assign these Density 381.98 Kg/m3
E1 (Elastic Modulus Longitudinal) 3151.1 Mpa
E2 (Elastic Modulus Lateral) 416.2 Mpa
      Poisson’s Ratio 0.31
      Shear Modulus 439.2 Mpa

      Hi Jayakumar,
Do right-click in the “Engineering data” cell in the workbench –> click Edit–> in the engineering data select the density, drag and drop the selected density in the property table, similarly, you will find the orthotropic Elasticity do the same drag and drop in the material property table. you will find the option to enter your required value.
you can type in youtube and search by keyword: ” How to Add New Material in Ansys Workbench Library” and How to add new material in ANSYS workbench | ANSYS tutorials for beginners” ypu will find the video related to how to add new material.

      Regards,
      Sampat

      Hello

Is there any APDL file for "Oscillating Plate FSI" tutorial, please? There is one version of that tutorial in CLI, as follows. How about APDL?

Oscillating Plate FSI with Fluent and Mechanical (ansys.com)

      Thank you.
