Hello, nFor context, my current workflow involves setting up, running, and post-processing Fluent simulations through Workbench. nI then will make duplicate(s) of this initial simulation, change a parameter (i.e. the initial temperature of the flow field) within the duplicate simulation(s) and then solve the duplicate simulation(s). nMy issue is that I've noticed that when I re-initialize a duplicate simulation (i.e. to apply a new hooked UDF defining the new initial temperature of the flow field) the OUTPUT files of the original (completed) simulation will be deleted. nJust wondering if anyone knows why this might be happening and how it could be avoided? Currently, I am making sure to create a copy of the original simulation's output files before initializing/running the duplicate simulation.nThanks!n

Hi,nCould you please double-check the location of the UDF file? Is the duplicate instance of Fluent reading the UDF from the original case file directory? Also, make sure your duplicate simulation is reading the UDF from its corresponding working directory. Please try to enforce this (if you are already not doing this).nKarthikn

One of my colleagues had similar issue before. He was running mesh sensitivity test. After changing the mesh and repeating the simulation, he did not find the original case and data files.

The other option is to use Fluent in standalone mode, as you then save the case & data manually and can put each model in a different folder to keep the output files safe. n
