Hello everyone.
I wish to ask if the mesh size in explicit dynamics affects the numerical damping and how. Could you please suggest any relevant publications?
Does Ansys uses bulk viscosity as numerical damping? If this is the case, then I would expect that finer mesh (i.e. smaller elements) to produce less numerical damping. Is that correct.Â
Many thanks,
Costas

Hi,
Please see if the following link helps: 4.1.4. Explicit Dynamics Damping Controls (ansys.com)

Many thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I can't find something relevant in the link you suggest.
