If you are running 2021 R1, you can use 4 cores.

SubscriberHello Array ,
Thank you for your replying.
Even if we have an Academic research license? I saw if we have an academic research license we can use 16 cores of CPU. I am doing the simulation of the electrical motor in 3D and it takes so long. I saw here we can use 16 cores of CPU to decrease the simulation time. Also, we want to get a new computer with powerful CPU that has a multicore to accelerate the simulation. Based on your answer we can not use more than 4 cores of CPU for simulation, even if we have an academic research license, am I right?
Also, do you have any suggestions to increase the speed of simulation?
Thank you for your help and consideration.

My colleague said that you can use upto 4 cores for student version of AEDT. Regarding academic research license, you are right. You can use 16 cores for accelerating the simulation.
Best regards,
