SubscriberHello everyone,
I am trying to simulate a battery module in ANSYS Fluent using the MSMD battery model. My case includes the viscous, energy, and battery models. To define the connectivity between different battery cells, I have opted for virtual connections using an external .txt file. After reviewing the ANSYS tutorials and the Fluent User's Guide, I am still unable to establish an nSmP battery connection, where n represents the number of cells connected in series, and m represents the number of cells connected in parallel. Based on the User's Guide instructions, I have only been able to define an mPnS module, which does not achieve the desired configuration.
Is there a way to accomplish this using the virtual connectivity option, or is the busbar approach the only solution?
Thank you very much for your assistance,
Kind regards,
Iason -

Ansys EmployeeWhen setting up the Virtual Connections, you have two input formats available: 1. Tab surface-based format . 2. Active zone volume based format.Â
Both them are defined as mPnS. If you wish you establish an alternative format, then you would have to do it using a busbar. You can see 30.2. Using the MSMD-Based Battery Models (ansys.com) for more information.Â
