July 25, 2021 at 4:11 pmAmith_Anoop_KumarSubscriberThanks for the reply . But the problem is ansys 2D , so is there a method we can give solid elements to a 2D surface . Because this is a problem taken for verification manual of ansys hence there a surface itsel is used itsnt a 3d component so how to proceed
July 25, 2021 at 6:15 pmpeteroznewmanSubscriberMy understanding is a pre-meshed crack requires 3D solid elements. If there is an ANSYS verification model that shows a 2D model, I don't know about it.
If you want to proceed with a Pre-Meshed Crack, I suggest you create the crack faces in a 3D solid body using SpaceClaim, but you need good geometry creation skills.
I recommend you use a Semi-Elliptical Crack, which requires no geometry preparation.
